Marta Vodeb first discovered the art of designing clothes whilst working as an apprentice in a tailor's workshop in Novo mesto. That experience made a big impact on her approach to designing and making clothes. The Vodeb trademark, established by Marta herself (who is also the only owner of the trademark), has been since the very beginning focused on perfection in the making of clothes and the handicraft approach to the production itself. Those efforts have resulted in clothes with interesting details which can only be the result of manual work and exceptional knowledge of the tailoring process. The experience gained in the tailor's workshop has also influenced Marta Vodeb in terms of her attitude to clients, which is very personal, almost intimate, and it is based on her belief that clothes should breathe with a client's personality and his/her body. Apart from her current clothes collection, which is available at Pentlja Concept Store, Marta's designs are almost exclusively custom-made.
Marta Vodeb has always been trying to discover the eternal truths and minimalism. She believes that any piece of clothing should consist only of the most essential element(s) conveying the fundamental message of each individual piece of clothing and that the message should be powerful enough so as not to be overlooked. Therefore, her clothes are timeless and always fashionable. In recent years Marta's design aesthetics for women has become softened and there has been a shift from the androgynous to recognisably feminine lines, and this shift away from strictness and discipline has also been reflected in her choice of colours. Marta is no longer trying to find her design aspirations only in herself or in the person she is creating for, she is trying to discover the right inspiration everywhere around her.
